CHILDREN OF IMMIGRANTS.

You were raised seeing the struggle and sacrifice that your family went through in the pursuit for you to have better opportunities. You have always done what has been expected of you and often put your family’s wishes above your own. So naturally, trying to advocate your own wants, needs, and desires can be foreign, unfamiliar, and met with resistance. I enjoy working with children of immigrants who are adjusting to major life transitions including professional, familial, and relational difficulties and navigating their own acculturation process.

You can be your own worst enemy, letting your own unhelpful thoughts get in the way. Imposter syndrome is rampant among strong, smart, driven women and makes you feel like you need to question and analyze every decision you make. Perhaps you don’t think your voice is as important or qualified enough to take on a new role and this feeling is getting in the way of attaining your goals. I enjoy supporting high-achieving individuals embrace their assertive voice and learn how to manage conflict instead of avoid it.

Society tells us that there’s a certain order and way to live our lives. There is a distinct pressure to hit particular milestones, which makes us question our choices or feel like we are behind should we experience bumps along the road. Your 20s are a time for so much change and transition, breakups, friendship struggles, career decisions, and identity exploration, which can be beyond overwhelming and confusing. I enjoy working with individuals to trust their own inner voice and drown out all the noise so they can live a life according to their own values.

Women in their reproductive years face immense pressure as they plan for and navigate motherhood. The road can be overwhelmingly unexpected, joyful, and exhausting as you face the psychological and physiological trauma, anxiety, and depression that often accompanies infertility, pregnancy, motherhood, and miscarriage. So it is unsurprising that women in their reproductive years are the largest group with depression in the US according to the CDC and that was before we added on a global pandemic! My goal is to create a space to help support you along your journey where you can candidly discuss your struggles and learn to see your successes.
